President Chen and the director of TFAZ, Liang Guo-wei, listened to the course related suggestions from interns and encouraged them to strengthen their strategies, skills in firefighting and physical fitness. They also reminded the interns to follow the COVID-19 preventive guidelines and be safe, as well as wished everyone a happy new lunar year.

President Chen indicated that COVID-19 was still active for the past two years and the firefighters were the front line pandemic preventive personnel. Thus, he suggested the students to enhance their physical fitness in daily life. Moreover, they also needed to get the practical ability through their intern experience so as to protect themselves and people in the future.

Chen Guan-ren, who is a junior in the Department of Fire Science, said that he had learned a lot in the maintenance and operation of the fire safety equipment during the internship in Zhushan. The challenging physical training made him realize that professionalism and fitness are highly needed in order to be a firefighter and he still lacked many of them. He is determined to cherish his time in school and to be stronger and more professional. He also expects to contribute to the society after graduating as soon as possible.
