According to the Ministry of the Interior, application for research and development substitute service in 2023 is open, with a quota of 2,600 draftees. The application processing stops when the quota is used up. Draftees who were born before 2004 and have a master’s degree or above may apply to register as soon as possible at the “Ministry of the Interior’s R&D Substitute Service Information Management System” (https://rdss.nca.gov.tw) or the R&D Substitute Service APP, so to have one more option for military service.
