According to the project of making a better English environment of the Executive Yuan, National Police Agency established the website of information for foreigners living in Taiwan to offer comprehensive information. Based on the website the NPA set up the hotline to provide 24 hour bilingual service for foreigners living in Taiwan and to help it more convenient and comfortable living here.

The hotline (0800-024-111) is an easily remembered number which the NPA especially picked from a series of toll free numbers and will help you to solve numerous problems about living in Taiwan. There are three parts to this number. The 0800 means that it is toll free. The 024 means that it is 24 hrs. per day. And the 111 means that the service is the very best. It is very difficult to forget the number if you know the meaning of these three parts. Foreigners can ask for direct assistance the very first time.

The information is comprehensive, including visas, resident work permits (ARC), safety, investments, education, taxes, national health insurance. It also contains information about business, religion, child care, laws, and domestic violence. If the hotline operators can not give you a satisfactory answer they will call you back shortly or your call will be transferred to the suitable agency. If it is an emergency the hotline operator will use three way communication to help you at once.

We want to provide foreigners living in Taiwan with a better and more friendly living environment. We hope that it makes your daily life more enjoyable and convenient while living in our country.
