Due to the development of novel technologies and building materials, the issue of building fire protection has been facing new challenges. And, to reduce the damage from fire, the design of building fire protection should have active and passive protections. Architecture and Building Research Institute (ABRI) has been focusing on the research of novel technologies and fire-resistant materials on buildings. In conference, ABRI and associated researchers shared research results on topics including: intelligent fire prevention, fire safety, fire-resistant materials, fire compartments, and fire risks of photovoltaic and indoor energy storage systems.
Topics includes:
Intelligent fire prevention: The application and prospective of intelligent technologies.
Fire safety: The verification of hydraulic calculation for fire suppression equipment in buildings.
Fire-resistant materials and fire compartments: The test criteria of non-combustibility for fire-resistant first-grade composite materials; lateral flame spread; fire compartments in logistics and storage buildings.
Fire risk and active/passive fire protection: Photovoltaic and indoor energy storage systems.
The topical speeches provided the prospective information of novel technologies, developments of building materials and active/passive fire protection for attendees. The conference has concluded successfully on November 24, 2023, in the Xiangxian Lecture Hall of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Cheng Kung University. Registration for the event was overwhelming with 60 people participated.
