Accompanied by Wang Cheng-Chi, Director of the Land Administration Department, and specialist Wang Yu-Sen, Minister Lin Yu-Chang of the Ministry of the Interior inspected the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center and Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau on June 20, 2023 for an update on the performances.
After receiving a briefing by Director-General Lin Ching-Ling of the Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau, Minister Lin expressed that, when carrying out urban land consolidation and zone expropriation, the local governments except for the 6 metropolises are all relatively lacking in expertise, manpower and experiences; he therefore hopes, besides advancing major central constructions and prioritized projects of the Bureau, all the possible assistance shall be given to the rural local governments by all means for escalating their land development capacities, and balancing urban and rural developments.
For the lack of manpower, Minister Lin suggested that the Bureau further expound on the philosophy of establishment and the core value of professionalism of the entity, so that the public can become aware that all the efforts made by the Bureau coordinate with the national infrastructure and correspond to local needs; he also emphasized continual communication and active endeavoring. Finally, Minister Lin urged the Bureau to exert its expertise to achieve more in both central and local land developments.
