On January 16, 2024, during the Executive Yuan meeting, all related ministries reported their law enforcement enhanced measures for the Lunar New Year holiday. Liu Shyh-Fang, the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior, stated that from 10:00 p.m. on January 20 to 12 a.m. on February 3, 2025, the National Police Agency will implement the plan of strengthening social security for 2025 major holidays. This plan will be executed by police departments nationwide, focusing on maintaining “public order, smooth traffic, and people’s relief.”
Minister Liu emphasized that in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, all police departments will deploy forces based on the security and traffic conditions under their jurisdiction. In the maintenance of public order, the main focus will be safeguarding financial institutions and combating gambling-related crimes. In terms of ensuring smooth traffic, advance plan will be made for highly-congested sections (tourist spots). As for accident-prone sections, the police will enhance inspections and preventive measures. Additionally, the resources of auxiliary police will be utilized to support security and traffic-related services.
