A workshop for faculty members at Central Police University took place on February 21, 2025, in the International Conference Hall within the Science Building. The university organizes a workshop at the beginning of each semester to promote a shared teaching vision and enhance pedagogical understanding. This event, attended by 118 participants, aimed to improve the quality of police education and welcome new faculty members into the university community.
The workshop consisted of two sessions. The first session featured a presentation by newly appointed Assistant Professor Ying-Chieh Chen from the Department of Information Management. He spoke about “The Application of Generative AI in Academic Teaching and Research.” Professor Chen discussed the impact of generative AI technology on modern teaching and research models, with a particular focus on its integration with police practices. He encouraged faculty members to actively embrace AI technology to foster innovation in their teaching methods.
The second session was led by Chief Hung-Ho Chen from the National Police Agency, who presented the "Police Education and Training System." This initiative aims to enhance the digitalization of police education through e-learning and practical simulations, thereby improving professional competencies and operational efficiency. During his presentation, Chief Chen engaged faculty members in discussions on how to effectively integrate this system into student training. Participants found both sessions to be highly insightful and beneficial.
During his address at the workshop, President Yuan-Ming Yang highlighted the university's commitment to integrating emerging technologies to bridge the gap between teaching and practical applications. He articulated a vision for equipping students with a richer, more diverse, and forward-thinking array of learning resources. President Yang encouraged faculty members to collaborate in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of police education. The workshop concluded on an uplifting note, fostering a vibrant and engaging atmosphere where faculty shared insights and experiences related to innovative teaching methods.
