Deputy Minister of NIA inspects disease control measures
Everyone is responsible for fighting against the virus, and the government will also provide adequate supplies for epidemic prevention to ensure relevant personnel's safety. Besides, the personnel at detention centers are asked to conduct self-health management and reinforce care services for people in detention centers. Carrying out comprehensive disease control measures in advance, the government has sent many foreigners back to their countries.
To meet the demands of disease control in advance amid COVID-19, Taipei Detention Center has actively planned several measures and purchased relevant supplies for epidemic prevention at the very beginning of coronavirus outbreak. At the beginning of February, the emergency response plan has been developed for fighting against coronavirus disease. Taipei Detention Center also invited the director of Sanxia Public Health Center in New Taipei City, Su Zhichao, and Dr. Yu Zhengzong of Zhu en Clinic (主恩診所) to assist in leading the personnel and people in the detention center to correctly use protective equipment. They also publicized health education to people in the center to ensure that all measures for disease control are implemented comprehensively. Moreover, several measures, procedures, and practical walkthroughs of epidemic prevention have been conducted, such as receiving people who have potential symptoms.
Head of Taipei Detention Center, Tsai Peiyuan, stated that as COVID-19 has continued to spread, the center will be also purchasing supplies for epidemic prevention, planning more spaces for detention, implementing health management and inspection, and developing correct disease control concepts of the personnel. Through practical walkthroughs, the personnel's emergency skills have been greatly raised to ensure people's health and safety in the detention center.
