The field for showing the name of spouse on the digital ID card has not been deleted but encrypted and stored on the chip.
The field for showing the name of spouse is not displayed on the digital ID card but stored on the chip for better protection of personal information of the public.
According to the Ministry of Interior, in responding to the need to keep the name of the spouse and the protection of the privacy rights of the spouse simultaneously, the name of the spouse is encrypted and stored on the chip of the digital ID card, which is accessible with the consent of the public after entering the password. In the future, the public could access and confirm the data on the chip by visiting the special section of identity authentication at the official website of the Ministry of Interior. In addition, the field of marital status is introduced in the card to identify if the ID card holder is married or not.
