Ministry of the Interior: Larysa could get her ID card and become a true Taiwanese
According to certain news reports on January 23, Larysa hoped to get the national identity card of the Republic of China as quickly as possible. In response, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) mentioned that the government has already approved the naturalization of Larysa and she will acquire the nationality of the Republic of China. Larysa has applied for permanent residency today, and could make registration at any of the household registration office to get her ID card. The government embraced Larysa, the lady who identified with and loved Taiwan, to become a true Taiwanese.

According to MOI, Larysa loves Taiwan, has married a Taiwanese and they have children. She has stayed in Taiwan for the required duration that the Ministry of Interior voluntarily contacted Larysa to explain to her the application procedure. With the assistance of the National Immigration Agency (NIA), Larysa has successfully acquired her permanent residency status, and she could make household registration at any time to get her ID card on the scene to become a true Taiwanese.
According to MOI, the Immigration Act requires that if a foreign national desires to acquire the Nationality of the Republic of China, he or she must stay in Taiwan for 1 year consecutively under the status as a non-citizen without household registration record, or for a period of 2 years, staying in Taiwan for at least 270 days each year, or, for a period of 5 years, staying in Taiwan for at least 183 days each year. The person concerned could then apply with the NIA for permanent residency with which the person could make household registration at the Household Registration Office and obtain the national ID card.
