The Architecture and Building Research Institute participated in the "Government Disaster Prevention Theme Pavilion" of "2019 Asia Pacific Smart Disaster Prevention Summit and New Technology Equipment Exhibition".
In order to effectively promote and publicize the research results of disaster prevention technology, and to awaken the attention of the public on disaster prevention, the Architecture and Building Research Institute (ABRI) participated in the "Government Disaster Prevention Theme Pavilion" of "2019 Asia-Pacific Smart Disaster Prevention Forum and New Technology Equipment Exhibition" from May 8 to 10 this year. The subject of ABRI’s exhibition is smart disaster prevention solutions. The Engineering Technology Division and the Safety and Disaster Prevention Division of ABRI display research results related to disaster prevention solutions, such as seismic evaluation and reinforcement, applying BIM to fire disaster prevention, autonomous disaster prevention of hillside community, and a system with storm water detention facility design. ABRI’s research results showing in this exhibition including “Development and application of the preliminary seismic evaluation of reinforced concrete buildings", "Development and application of the preliminary seismic evaluation of steel structures and steel reinforced concrete buildings", " The study of applying BIM to review the building design and interior renovation", "The study of non-destructive testing on building exterior wall tiles", " The study of the assessment and staged retrofitting of existing buildings", "The applications of web-GIS cloud-operating system for the design of storm water detention facility", "Combining IoT, MEMS, cloud computation and warning value of monitoring to develop intelligent disaster prevention for hillside communities", "The promotion and educational programs of disaster prevention for hillside communities", etc. The exhibits include an intelligent sensing stick for hillside communities, a web-GIS cloud-operating system with storm water detention facility design, a building management systems with database of disaster prevention for hillside communities, a drone entity, a seismic evaluation film, posters, presentation videos, and written reports.

During the exhibition, the visits and inquiries from the public were extremely enthusiastic. It means ABRI’s research results of the smart disaster prevention solutions met the needs of the public. We hope ABRI’s research results can awaken the attention of the public on disaster prevention and disaster prevention technology researches, and enhance the life safety of the public.
