Prohibited Activities Regulations in the Domain of Kenting National Park

1.Any action involving the sale or display of hunted or collected animals, plants, and their specimens in contravention of the National Park Law and other applicable laws and regulations, is prohibited.

2.Any gathering, collecting, selling, or displaying of stalagmites, stalactites, prehistoric fossils, shells, shell sand, coral rocks, and other rocks and specimens or their derived products is prohibited. Those who have proof that such specimens did not originate from Kenting National Park are exempt from this regulation.

3.Peddling, setting up vending stalls, or selling goods by other means outside of the permitted area is prohibited.

4.Livestock grazing in unapproved areas outside of the general area or within 20 meters from the main road is prohibited.

5.Unauthorized placement of containers, vending stalls, or other similar structures that seriously disturb the landscape within Kenting National Park is prohibited.

6.Business operations surrounding all-terrain vehicles, sandboarding, or land sailing are prohibited. 

7.Undertaking climbing at the areas around and including Dajian Mountain, Frog Rock, or Sail Rock is prohibited. 

8.Lighting fireworks and firecrackers is prohibited (with the exceptions of: Lunar New Year’s Eve, the first to the fifth day of Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival, Ching Ming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Ghost Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, New Year’s Eve events, and other sacrificial holidays, local folk rituals, and religious occasions).

9.Projection of any light, casting of sky lanterns, camping, barbecues, or campfire activities outside of legal campgrounds, and the parking of recreational vehicles, trailers, or other similar structures are all prohibited.

10.The feeding of wildlife or the release or abandonment of animals are prohibited.

11.The setting up of umbrellas or swimming at Dawan Beach and its waters (East of Kenting Disiyisanhao Bridge to the Temple of the Dutch Princess (“Babao Gongzhu Temple”)) are prohibited.

12.The Maobitou Park boardwalk is prohibited from entry.

13.Dropping anchors above the coral reef is prohibited.

14.Hosting of outdoor musical activities outside of designated areas is prohibited.

15.Prohibited recreational activities by coastal waters are as follows:
a. Should continuous wave height be over 1 meter and red flags are erected along the shore line, swimming and paddling are prohibited.
b. Should continuous wave height be over 1.5 meters and red flags are erected along the shore line, snorkeling, shore diving, boat diving, and other diving activities are prohibited.
c. Should continuous wave height be over 2 meters and red flags are erected along the Jet Ski terminals, Jet Ski and other vehicle activities are prohibited.
d. Should the average wind force be at level 5 or should gusts reach above level 7, and red flags are erected along the shore line, all activities with non-powered inflatable floating gear, excepting surfing, are prohibited.

16.Operation of remote control drones without permission is prohibited.

17.With the exception of populated areas, political activities and actions with the potential to cause social disputes or conflict are prohibited within Kenting National Park.
