Among these cases, the largest number involved people from mainland China and Hong Kong (40), followed by Thailand (14), South Korea (10), the United States (9), and Vietnam (7). Most of those involved had come to Taiwan for tourism (99), followed by business activities (5) and employment as migrant workers (2). The prohibited items they brought included ham sausages, ham sandwiches, pork burgers, hot dog buns, pork dumplings, and qingtuan filled with salted egg yolk and pork floss.

Given that the global African swine fever (ASF) situation remains extremely serious, 75 countries and areas are currently designated as ASF-affected areas, including 18 countries and areas in Asia (see attachment for details). With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, and to prevent ASF from taking advantage of the occasion to enter Taiwan, travelers, migrant workers, new immigrants, international students, and other foreign nationals arriving in Taiwan from various countries and areas are urged to observe the following precautions:

Upon arrival in Taiwan, do not bring any meat-containing foods, other animal products, or meals provided on flights into the country. If you are carrying any such items, dispose of them in designated disposal bins before entering Taiwan, or declare them for disposal before passing through customs.

Anyone found to have illegally brought pork products into Taiwan from a country or area affected by ASF will be fined NT$200,000 for a first offense and NT$1 million for a second offense. Foreign nationals without residency status who are fined NT$200,000 but are unable to pay the fine in full on the spot will be referred by the relevant APHIA branch to the National Immigration Agency and denied entry into Taiwan.

Please also remind relatives and friends overseas not to send meat-containing foods or other items subject to quarantine requirements to Taiwan by courier or mail. If pork products are mailed to Taiwan from a country or area affected by ASF, the recipient of the parcel will be fined NT$200,000 for a first offense and NT$1 million for a second or subsequent offense.

Educational materials on African swine fever are available for download and use from APHIA's African Swine Fever Information Section: https://asf.aphia.gov.tw/ws.php?id=21420

The Reference Table of Quarantine Requirements for Common Animals, Plants, and Related Products Carried by Inbound Travelers is also available for download and use from the APHIA website: https://www.aphia.gov.tw/ws.php?id=10719

Ministry of the Interior Conducts On-Site Information and Communications Security Audit at the Land Consolidation Engineering Bureau

To implement its information and communications security and personal data audit mechanisms and help its subordinate agencies strengthen the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of information security and personal data protection, the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) regularly conducts information security and personal data protection audits of its subordinate agencies. Despite strong market demand, the development of the gerontechnology industry continues to face significant challenges, including insufficient understanding of user contexts, unclear product value positioning, and a lack of real-world validation environments. These barriers hinder innovative products from effectively reaching the market and realizing their full potential.

To address these critical issues, ABRI is implementing the “Digital Gerontechnology Product and Service Residential Validation and Methodology Development Project,” under which two “Value Proposition Workshops” will be held in Taipei and Taichung on April 17 and 22, respectively. The workshops will be led by the experienced professional team from the iNSIGHT Center, NTU. Adopting a participatory co-creation approach, the workshops will incorporate design thinking methodologies to help enterprises reassess product positioning and market strategies, clarify core value propositions, and enhance both product strength and market competitiveness.

The workshop will be led by Calvin Lai, Strategy Director of the iNSIGHT Center, NTU, with support from a team of teaching assistants providing guided, hands-on facilitation. Participants will engage in the practical application of three classic business strategy tools. Through a systematic process, enterprises will be able to comprehensively map out key stakeholders, gain deeper insights into how different roles influence product success, and accurately align product offerings with target user needs and pain points. This process will further refine the value and benefits delivered by their products. Ultimately, participants will develop a concise and compelling value proposition statement, enabling clearer product positioning and stronger differentiation in the competitive gerontechnology market.

For digital gerontechnology enterprises facing challenges such as unclear product positioning, undefined target markets, or a lack of real-world validation settings, this workshop offers a valuable opportunity to rethink product strategies through guided practice. By starting from user needs, participants can develop more relevant, feasible, and impactful gerontechnology solutions. Registration is now open, and all interested enterprises are warmly invited to join.

【Taipei Workshop】

Date & Time: April 17, 2026 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Venue: Locke Hall, GIS NTU Convention Center (B1, No. 85, Section 4, Roosevelt Road, Da’an District, Taipei City)

【Taichung Workshop】

Date & Time: April 22, 2026 (1:30 PM – 4:30 PM)

Venue: Baben Hall, GIS Taichung Xinwuri Convention Center (3F, No. 26, Gaotie East 1st Road, Wuri District, Taichung City)

Registration Link: https://www.accupass.com/event/2602090920322122614541

Household registration statistics data analysis in Feb 2026

1. These systems not only align with net-zero carbon emission targets but also reflect the modern enterprise's commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) responsibilities.
However, with the widespread use of ESS, the risk of fire incidents has also increased. This is especially true for ESS equipment installed within buildings, where effective fire prevention and mitigation strategies have become a major concern for the public and industry alike.
This seminar aims to explore fire risk assessment and mitigation strategies for ESS, drawing on the research and expertise of leading scholars. The goal is to provide the industry with scientifically sound reference materials and technical support.
This seminar is open to government agencies, urban planners, building management and public works officials, fire safety personnel, as well as architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, fire protection engineers, interior designers, renovation professionals, energy storage companies, property insurance firms, and students and professionals from related fields such as architecture and fire safety.
The aim of this seminar is to foster exchange and collaboration across these sectors, enhance safety management standards for ESS, and support the advancement of disaster prevention and mitigation efforts in building safety
