This center was established in 1986 by reshuffling the original Land Administration Information Center and drawing up 4 guidelines for the Domestic Affairs Information System's 5-Year Development and Promotion Plan containing 206 subsystems, that laid out a solid foundation for the informatization of administration and office automation.
Currently, we are promoting the guidelines for year 2001-5 to develop 87 subsystems. Furthermore, coordinating with the e-Taiwan Project promoted by the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) formed in December 2002 the MOI e-Government Efficiency Promotion Team which was supervised by this center to integrate and follow up the progress of digitization of the MOI, while other units took charge of the promotion work.
The National Information and Communications Initiative Committee (NICI) added the Network Society Function Team after revising the establishment directive in 2005. The team convened by the MOI is chaired by the Administrative Deputy Minister of MOI, and this center becomes an advisory unit promoting networking in coordination with NICI. With the completion of the e-Taiwan Projected in 2007, the UNS (Ubiquitous Network Society) Program shall be promoted by the Natural Person Identification and Communications Initiative Committee (NICI) in 2008. |
