MOI program for smart innovation, openness and convenience in digital household registration system receives 2017 DTA Award for Excellence in Open Digital Government
The digitization of the household registration system has laid a solid foundation for the infrastructure of e-government in Taiwan. And in order to provide even better services to various departments within the ministry, the public, other government agencies and enterprises, starting in 2009, the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) has continued to promote measures aimed at streamlining government procedures, improving convenience and encouraging innovation. The fruits of those efforts include vast improvements in the workflow both within the MOI and across different government ministries, better service through e-government, lower cost to the government and higher capacity and quality in the service provided by the government's information system. In 2016, the public approval rating in this area reached as high as 95.7%. On May 3, 2017, the MOI's efforts in improving and innovating digitzied household registration were recognized by the 2017 DTA Award -- Excellence in Open Digital Government, an honor awarded by the Digital Transformation Association.
